CAN THO, VIETNAM – The Vietnam International Agriculture Exhibition 2024 officially opened its doors on November 1st at the Can Tho Promotion Center for Investment, Trade and Fair, drawing nearly 400 booths from 100 businesses representing 20 Vietnamese provinces and cities, alongside international participants from South Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan.
The exhibition serves as a vital platform to showcase the achievements of Vietnam’s agricultural sector, particularly in the Mekong Delta region. A diverse array of products are on display, spanning agricultural machinery and equipment, production lines, agro-industrial processing, agricultural materials, fertilizers, pesticides, high-tech agricultural support technologies, solutions for enhancing agricultural product connectivity, post-harvest preservation techniques, and regional specialties. The event also features OCOP products (One Commune One Product), key products of Can Tho City, high-quality plant varieties, fruits, commercial products, and consumer goods for farmers and rural communities.
Mr. Nguyen Thuc Hien, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee, stated, “The Vietnam International Agriculture Fair, an annual event held in Can Tho City since 1997, has consistently contributed to promoting trade promotion activities, strengthening trade connections, and fostering cooperation in high-tech agricultural development. It provides businesses with opportunities to enhance their brand recognition, expand their markets, and celebrate the value of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products while showcasing new scientific advancements and achievements in agricultural production.”
A series of concurrent events enrich the exhibition, including the conference “Announcement of the Agricultural and Rural Development Planning of Can Tho City for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050,” and the seminar “Introduction of Ecobiznet’s microbial products in the agricultural sector in Vietnam.” Trade promotion activities, supply-demand connection programs, and programs linking producers and distributors further facilitate business networking, partnerships, and market expansion, particularly for agricultural exports.
